Your lawn is important to us
When we dig the footings, we bring our bobcat in on plywood to protect your grass.
Digging the footings
The bobcat has a 18 inch diameter auger. We can dig fast and year round with this bobcat.
Verifying depth
Before we pour our concrete the building inspector must check the depth and bell of each footing. In our region of Minnesota, the frost-line is 42.
Ledger boards
We set the ledger board at least 3 inches below the door to avoid water damage. We use a stainless steel flashing that won't corrode or rust.
The framing
We hang and level the first rim joist and square it with the ledger.
Framing on...
We use pressure treated southern yellow pine with a #1 grade.
Setting 6x6 posts
After the framing is up, we set our 6x6 support posts. Sometimes we cover the posts with a fascia or decorative sleeve.
Decking
Once the framing is finished, we start installing the decking.
Railing
We install all of the rail posts then, install the railing.
Aluminum railing
This aluminum railing has glass pickets to preserve the view of the yard.
low-maintenance decking
This is decking an aluminum decking powder-coated to look like real wood. The balusters are powder-coated to match.
Viola!
The fascia is hung, lights are installed and wired, and the deck is completed!
